[Luceti journal-browsers are greeted with the sight of a man sitting cross-legged in a semi-relaxed albeit focused state, a sheathed sword resting against his left shoulder. A man with long hair and sharp, elegant facial features. While it is not the most fascinating sight by far, there is something about his inscrutable eyes gazing at the screen that quietly commands attention in a manner that may seem slightly intimidating. In the backdrop, one will hear the gentle, calming sussuration of leaves, the light streaming through the canopy of above throwing shimmering patches of light over the shoulders of his hakamashita.

He addresses Luceti briefly with a solemn voice of one who chooses every word carefully, like a poet.]

I am interested in knowing where I may find a waterfall within this barrier. If you have any information, I would be grateful. [An incline of his head.] ...That is all.

[Shutting the journal – he sets it down onto the grass rather than tucking it away into his shirt, for there is training to be done. With a calm purposefulness, he shrugs off the right half of his top, preferring for the movement of his arm to be free and unimpeded; then, the left half follows, sleeve and all, crumpling loosely at his waist. Grey wings freed. He has taken the time to arrange ten thick metal posts of identical length into a circle... and is now stepping within it, readying his body, mind and spirit for a decisive strike.

You are welcome to watch, if this entertains you – but while he will likely take notice of you, he may not be very inclined at all to chat.]
goemon_juusansei: (Then that means...)
[The guide handed him earlier had explained that if it were to be anywhere in this world, he would find it in ‘Slash and Crash’ – and nearly the instant he had read that line of text, he had shot to his feet and made a beeline to the weapons shop with the help of a map, feeling his heart lurch in anticipation as he drew nearer.

He was now there, his dark, hawk-like eyes scanning the shelves over and over for that straight, shirasaya-type scabbard he recognized all too well...
]

Shimatta…! [The samurai hissed under his breath, teeth gritted; the disappointment was as easy to take as a punch to the solar plexus.] I know it is here… it must be! [In Luceti, that is. His voice rose suddenly with the burning intensity of his resolution.] I will find you, Zantetsuken!!

[Such passion. Except that he had no clue where to begin his search; after all, his beloved iron-cutting-sword could be anywhere in Luceti – that is, if the beings known as the Malnosso were not keeping it in their possession - and it would be take far too long to thoroughly search every corner of this world for it. Still, he could never abandon it; in the face of insurmountable odds, it had never failed him.

Possessed with restlessness, Goemon may accidentally bump into someone in the process of searching the surrounding area. If Fortune favoured him, he would locate the missing blade himself and sooner rather than later (and what a joyous reunion that would be!) ... but then again, it was Lupin who was known to have an uncanny level of good luck.

goemon_juusansei: (Hn?! / Over shoulder)
In the wonderful, continuity-lacking series known as Lupin III, Goemon seems sensitive to auras of evil and death especially. In general, he tends to be aware of when someone is around or approaching him but remaining unseen (he doesn't always know *who* it is, though). I can only guess that he may also be able to sense intense sadness or anger or restlessness in others near him, even if they seem outwardly composed. He's definitely not a mind-reader, though.

While he does train rigorously to hone his skills, it wouldn't be fun or fair if nothing could get past him (and he does have his fail!moments in canon, of course!) So, I figured I should toss this permissions post your way to see what you are comfortable with. Heck, time and time again, dangerous women have easily clouded his judgment simply by acting or seeming kind enough... so however you answer the questions below is fine with me!

I'd appreciate if you could fill the following out for me for your characters so I don't unintentionally step on toes :

Questions under the cut. )

If you have questions or comments, you can poke me on AIM (mistergoemon), PM me, or leave them here. Whichever you prefer, I'd appreciate it if you approached me rather than letting a potential issue become more of one. Please don't be shy. The last thing I'd want is to unwittingly do something wrong. :c

Because I am not Japanese, I attempt to research all things cultural and most applicable to Goemon. I surely will make mistakes despite my best efforts, however, and if you notice one, I apologize.

Offering a critique?

Please make it constructive.

Try to be as specific as possible.
Please bear in mind that there is a lack of continuity in Lupin III and many 'versions' of Goemon exist within anime canon alone, each with different 'voices' (eg. Dubs vs, Subs, Red!Goemon, Green!Goemon, MonkeyPunchManga!Goemon; for one Lupin example, try Mamo!Lupin vs. Cagliostro!Lupin). Within these 'versions', there is some wiggle-room for interpretation; this applies to all main characters in Lupin III canon. My version is mostly Red!Subs. That said, if you spot something which you believe is very un-Goemon like, let me know and we'll have a look!
